A question, this event has had capacity extended a few times now, but price remains at £30... There is no way this event costs £2700 to put on, what is happening to the profits from this event? (group entry price is £13.20)

Also, I see the spirit of bok trophy, for the best MODIFIED racing puma, perhaps it might be an idea to add a trophy for best pure FRP.

How do you know there is no way this event will cost that much to put on. It might be ONLY £13.20 for group entrance, but that does not include the hire of the conference centre, public liability insurance that the club has to take out, payment for the speakers, ticket printing, the photo session, prizes and trophies to name a few.

If you want to visit Duxford on a different day and pay less then that's fine by me. Myself, Ed and Burfy Boy have gone to a lot of effort to put this event on, and still have more work to do, so I am happy to refund your money if you think £30 is too expensive for the day.

Hmmm I dont really want to get too involved with this one but is £30 really too dear? How much would any of you pay for a day out at Alton Towers etc... without once considering their overheads etc...

Plus this event is a vary rare chance to hear from those in the the know about the car first hand, an oppertunity that has only once before happened in 2003!

Im not involved with the club funding one bit, but I do know that the club now has a stock of all 909 specific FRP parts for future blueprinting / reverse engineering, and as you all know those parts arent cheap!

....and the room we have now hired is bigger unless everyone wants to sit on everybody else's lap?

As Rob said, any profits will go into the club to replace the money that was spent on the 909 parts purchased over the past year which has cost well over £1000 and the club funds were nearly down to £0.

We were not originally going to offer trophies/prizes for the concours, whereas now we are, we are also getting quotes on beverages for the day which was also not included when we originally set up the day.

Still to be booked are a photographer and also someone to take video, these may not be cheap.

oh and also a new handbag and shoes for the occasion for myself need to be purchased

£30 isn't bad for a day out, It would be nice if we all got a memento from the day to say we attended, (T shirts don't last for ever)
Rather than just the shiniest and the Bok'est cars there.

I know the club had a large van full of spares from Gareth. Where in earth do you keep them?

I didn't ever say it was too expensive, mearly asking the point of what is happening to the profit. I help to organise music festivals, and know how far that money could go, so know there is a huge profit going somewhere.

As pointed out by others, the increase in income is upto £1200 more than originally thought.... The increase in room size, may be a factor, if indeed we have actually changed rooms.

As a paid up member, I'm asking a question I have a right to know the answer too. Its all of our money, and I'm now curious to see how on earth you can fairly sell on the 909 parts you've brought up.

There are members here who have spent lots of their own cash promoting the club, with no support from the club.
